In Memory of the 5 Dragonboaters
Singapore has just lost 5 talented young men. One was a musician aspiring to be a composer, one was an engineer, one was just an undergrad, one was an engineer turned teacher...All of them had great dreams and ambitions. But they just left us like this. No fitting tribute could be given to them, but this is what we all can do.
However, all of them died doing what they loved to do, and in that, we can take some consolation.
One of them was our ex teacher, Mr Stephen Loh. The education arena has just lost a valuable resource. He was more then a teacher, more then a friend, in fact no words can describe our loss and how much we miss him. We miss the times we spent with him, be it happy times or sad times. But those have already became a memory, which we will treasure. He will always have a special place in our hearts. We really miss you...you was still smiling when you left maris stella. Oh well, we hope that you will be in a better place now.
Another talent was Mr Reuben Kee, a musician who had dreams of becoming a composer. The music world has lost a talent. Although I do not know him personally, I am sure that he would be missed by both families and friends. He has left his works on youtube, and I am sure future generations would appreciate that.
One was Mr Chee Wei Cheng, from SAJC. From the papers today, he was viewed as a very cheerful person by his ex teacher. He was quite a positive person as well. A very great loss to his family as well.....He was only 20, with a great future ahead of him.
Another was Mr Jeremy Goh, who was a national dragon boater. He motivated those around him. He was only 24.......an undergraduate.
The last man was 27 year old Mr Poh Boon San, with a future ahead of him..He was only a week into his job at the defence science and technology agency.
Rest in peace guys, and go on to a better place.
We would miss you.
My sincerest condolonces to all of their families and friends.
Rest in peace.
